Quality developments at HSE affirmed

On December 12, the Helsinki School of Economics received a confirmation of its continuous achievements with respect to international standard of quality development in the areas of its re-design of degree programs, faculty development and research focus. A peer review team of the EQUIS organisation evaluated HSE last spring. In December the re-accreditation of HSE for another five years as a European Quality Business School was affirmed.

HSE was among the first European business schools to receive the EQUIS accreditation in 1998. The continuity of the quality processes is assured by a re-evaluation every five years.

EQUIS, operated by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), is an international system of strategic audit and accreditation and concerned with quality in management education. Institutions accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalisation. 113 institutions have been awarded EQUIS, with 33 countries represented among the accredited schools. The background material for the evaluation comprise a comprehensive self-assessment report covering all of the university´s functions. After the self-evaluation period, an international evaluation team visits the institution.
